I would like to add that in several workflows you may want to include CAD files for example from airport layouts into your charting solution or for other reasons like to create a visualisation. You will need to be aware what are the file compatibility and of course there are always trade-offs you will need to be aware of.
If you got a specific workflow you would want more advice on then please let us know.
When deciding on what kind of software to use for each chart type you should also do some analysis of what is best for your circumstance:
1. Which chart types and symbology in each system that will allow me to produce this chart:
a.Technically (and safely).
b.Within Timeframe (if you need the chart tomorrow you may not have time to setup all the symbology required in time to switch from CAD to GIS for example).
A: The only way to improve a skill is to practice it, you may try to recreate some aeronautical charts either from your own country or from other countries. Also paid and free online tutorials exist for both software packages so sign up for some of those. (Antonio)
